Ed Sheeran Springs into March to Save the Music Industry

How Ed Sheeran is making his musical comeback an epic one

Ed Sheeran has been a popular name in the music industry for quite some time now, ever since releasing his debut album in September of 2011, titled +.

Since then, he’s released his second album, X (or Multiply), eminently bringing him even more success, including Sheeran’s first Grammy award.

Sheeran took quite a break from not only music but social media, as a whole, after touring his second album.

Completely ghost from the world of celebrities and gossip, Ed Sheeran was able to take some time for himself, which I feel every hardworking artists deserves now and then.

For some, this kind of break can ensure an almost inherent career fall once the artist tries to come back; people tend to forget or quite simply pit, they just stop caring.

This, however, is far from Sheeran’s case.

As he made his epic return to social media, Sheeran first teased that the new album would be titled “Divide,” also releasing snippets of album artwork and track list.

If you were to scroll the Twitter accounts of his fans after not even the release of the album, but something as simple as a track list, the excitement for songs that hadn’t even heard could hardly be contained.

Being quite the fan of Sheeran myself, I have to say, this album is different.

His classic, endearing, hand-written sound still remains on some of his tracks like “Happier” and “Dive,” while also including his signature “rap” style is songs like “Eraser” and “New Man.”

The other half of the album houses a completely new sound to Sheeran.

Take “Barcelona,” for example, a personal favorite of my own.

It’s hard to imagine yourself anywhere but relaxing with fancy island drink in hand on the most beautiful of tropic beaches.

The song has a Jamaican, laid back theme, with even a touch of Spanish towards the end of the track – something no one could’ve seen coming.

Overall, Divide has shown mass amounts of success for Ed Sheeran, making his comeback one to pay attention to.

Listeners can catch Sheeran at a venue near them, as he’s just announced and started his next world tour.

Find tickets and show dates on his website for more information.
